My First Paper Pumpkin Kit!

I received my first Paper Pumpkin kit for signing up as a new demonstrator. Let me tell you...it truly is "creativity in a box"! It was so much fun! The kits are so versatile, whether you're new to stamping or a stamp champ...the kits are purposefully designed to fit anyone's stamping needs! :)

If you are not familiar with Paper Pumpkin, it is a fully designed project kit by©Stampin' Up! that is mailed to your doorstep every month. Each month your kit will arrive fully equipped with stamps, ink, paper, embellishments and all materials pre-cut and ready to go! How easy is that?! The best part...it's a surprise each month what project is tucked sweetly in your brightly colored package! How exciting!!! I cannot wait for my July kit to arrive! Here are few pictures I took when my first Paper Pumpkin arrived!

It didn't take me long to pull back the pretty tissue paper and start creating! The kit comes with directions containing pictures if you need a little more guidance. Or, you can use the materials provided and customize the cards using your own designs! I took this route. Take a look at my alternate designs!

This Hey Man! kit came with enough materials to make 4 full sized cards and 2 mini cards (envelopes also included). Wow, definitely a lot of bang for your buck! I can't wait to share the July kit with you next month. Wouldn't it be awesome to share Paper Pumpkin together? Click Here to subscribe and be part of the fun next month! See you soon!

Have questions? Leave them in the comments section below or contact me. I'd love to hear from you!heart

Double Inked Letter Press Effect

I stumbled upon the coolest technique online and decided to try it. The result was so awesome I had to share it with you. The great thing about creating this effect is it doesn't require many materials.

I started the process by inking the smooth interior side of an embossing folder in moss green.

After it was inked up, I laid my white cardstock (4" x 5.25") inside of the embossing folder and ran it through my Texture Boutique (you can use any embossing device). This is how you achieve the letterpress effect. When I removed the white cardstock from the embossing folder it revealed a beautiful raised impression embedded with moss green ink!

Double inking time! I used the Iris ink pad to add contrasting color to the raised embossing. Using light pressure, I dabbed and gently slid the ink pad across the surface of the raised impression. I just love the way these two colors play off of each other.

I had originally planned to just try out the techique...but...the effect was just too dang on amazing! I had to incorporate it into a card. After some stamping, hand punched and die cut flowers, I love the finished product! What do you think?
I hope this technique tutorial leaves you motivated to try something new! See you soon! :)
