Today I felt like a kid in a candy store! My first "official" Paper Pumpkin kit arrived in the mail and I tore into that bad boy and started create'n. Then I realized...I should've been filming a video of the whole thing, lol! Whoops! That's how excited I was. :)
After I played around with the kit, I took out my camera and filmed a slightly altered version (photos below) of the project. The great thing about the kit is you can get creative and change the designs using the same materials in the kit! So awesome! I LOVE how the card turned out, so stinkin' cute!

Hey everyone! I've had such a busy week and am finally getting to post something crafty! :) So, yesterday was my sisters birthday (Happy Birthday Rachel!) and I decided I wanted to make her a gift using some of my fun new Stampin' Up! supplies (all of the supplies I used are found below this post). I'm so excited to share what I created.
It all started with a card...I made her a cute birthday card using various scrap paper that I had left over from other recent projects. #Idon'twasteathing After making her card I decided I wanted to make her a card set that featured our 2015-2017 in colors (mint macaron, hello honey, watermelon wonder, tip top taupe, cucumber crush). I also wanted to play around with some stamping. I decided, instead of using designer series paper to add fun designs I would make my own background paper. I took a sheet of whisper white cardstock (8.5"x11"), the 2015-2017 in color classic ink pads, and the Flower Patch stamp set and created my own floral pattern paper. It was super fun and easy to do! I even added a single stamped image on the front of each card envelope. Once my background paper was ready I cut it down to the size I wanted and adhered it to each card using stampin' dimensionals. For the sentiments, I knew I wanted to give her some mixed messages to make the set more versatile so I went with the Fabulous Four stamp set. I used the celebrate, it's your day, and thank you stamps from the set. To finish off the cards I added some tiny pearls to the center of all the flowers.
I had a little strip left from my background paper, so I used it to make a belly band for the cards. But, wait, I'm getting ahead of myself...I needed something for the cards to go in. All I had around the house were some brown lunch bags. So, I cut the bottom off of one and scored it at 1/4" then sealed it shut. I put the cards inside then folded the inch or so flap down at the top. I wrapped the belly band strip around and taped the two ends together. I wanted to cover up the taped area so I stamped some more flowers from the Flower Patch stamp set and die cut them using the coordinating Flower Fair Framelits Dies. I layered the flowers together and added them to the belly band using a couple dimensionals.
The final part of the gift came about because my honey recently started his Organo Gold coffee business and my sister wanted to sample the kcups. I wanted a cute way to display or wrap the kcups to make them a fun addition to her gift. I looked online and found a YouTube video tutorial by Connie Stewart on how to make a kcup holder. How awesome, right?! Well it turned out just perfect! I used some bits of designer series paper from the Cherry on Top paper stack (you can't see in the photos, but there is paper on all sides of the holder except the bottom) and a sheet tip top taupe cardstock. I added a "Happy Birthday" greeting from the Celebrate Today stamp set and added some whisper white seam binding ribbon to the top. I also die cut a couple of flowers using the Flower Fair Framelits Dies and adhered it to the front with a dimensional. I am over the moon about how this project turned out! This is exactly why I love stamping and Stampin" Up! The creative possibilities are truly ENDLESS and it is so much fun to let your mind and hands explore in so many wonderful ways. AND, my sister absolutely loved it, which brought my heart so much joy to see her happiness! I hope that my experience leaves you inspired to try something new today! I will see you tomorrow with a fun new video tutorial. Remember you can purchase any of the supplies used in this project by clicking the links below or clicking HERE! LaQuita

Hello everyone! I'm sharing my first Stampin' Up! card video with you today. Yay! I designed this card for the first card swap I'm participating in on my Stampin' Up! team with Robyn from My Pink Stamper. I had such a fun time making this card and I love that it was quick and simple. Below the video is a complete list of the Stampin' Up! products used to complete this design. Don't forget to leave me a comment below...I'd love to hear from you. Enjoy! :)
I stumbled upon the coolest technique online and decided to try it. The result was so awesome I had to share it with you. The great thing about creating this effect is it doesn't require many materials.
I started the process by inking the smooth interior side of an embossing folder in moss green.
After it was inked up, I laid my white cardstock (4" x 5.25") inside of the embossing folder and ran it through my Texture Boutique (you can use any embossing device). This is how you achieve the letterpress effect. When I removed the white cardstock from the embossing folder it revealed a beautiful raised impression embedded with moss green ink!
Double inking time! I used the Iris ink pad to add contrasting color to the raised embossing. Using light pressure, I dabbed and gently slid the ink pad across the surface of the raised impression. I just love the way these two colors play off of each other. I had originally planned to just try out the techique...but...the effect was just too dang on amazing! I had to incorporate it into a card. After some stamping, hand punched and die cut flowers, I love the finished product! What do you think?
I hope this technique tutorial leaves you motivated to try something new! See you soon! :)
